This week, we're interviewing Io.

1) What gender are you?
“Technically genderless, but those with my body design would be classified as ‘femmes’ or ‘females’ given the similarity to some organic templates.”
2) What is your age?
“I’m about 250,000 stellar cycles old. Rounded down, of course.” *giggle*
3) Do you want a hug?
“I suppose so, but I could end up hurting you…you’re so small.”
4) Do you have any bad habits?
“Ratchet would say that I have a terrible temper…and…I’m tempted to agree with him. There are times when I find myself so frustrated with things, with the path my life has taken—not with Ratchet, mind…he’s absolutely wonderful to be around—but with my place among the Autobots, that I have a hard time keeping it all bottled in.”
5) What is your favorite food?
“I know what you mean by this, but unfortunately, Cybertronians can’t ingest anything other than energon, or energon-like fuels.”
6) What is your favorite ice-cream flavor?
“What is ice-cream? It sounds dangerous.”
7) favorite movie?
“I’m not a big movie buff, never have been. I’d prefer to read or study. However, I do remember watching one film with a group of friends back in Nova Cronum, a horror comedy of sorts called ‘Dodging the Bullet.’ It had some really neat cinematography, and the hapless Bullet character —I can’t remember the name of the actor of the top of my processor—was hilarious.”
8) Have you killed anyone?
“Unfortunately, yes. Too many to easily count.”
9) Do you hate anyone?
“I try my best not to hate anyone, but there are some people in the world that need a good kick in the gears, and if I had a list, Megatron would definitely be at the top of it.”
10) Do you have any secrets?
“They’re more like regrets at this point, but yeah…lots.”
11) What is your favorite season?
“Se’ve’a. It’s one of our cooler seasons, and I’ve always liked cold weather. There are also really some neat optical effects during the day given how low Hadeen and the moons are on the horizon.”
12) Who is your best friend(s)?
“Quite honestly, Ratchet. He’s probably the most decent and honest person that I’ve ever met. We’ve…we’ve actually gotten quite close, and to say that I could easily see him as both a partner and friend is a testimony to how much of an impact he’s had on my life. There’s Interlink as well. He took an immediate liking to me after our first meeting, and he’s been very supportive and dependable ever since.”
13) What are your hobbies?
“Reading and doing research, mostly, though I do like to get out and fly on occasion. Actually, now that I think of it, one of my favorite hobbies is arguing with Ratchet about…well…about everything. We’ve basically turned all of our discussions into games of who-can-stump-who, or who-can-out-argue-who. We’re about even.” *giggle*
14) What is your favorite drink?
“Ven’sle.”
15) When is your birthday?
“I wasn’t ‘born’ in an organic sense, and actually it’s a matter of debate as to the exact moment when our protoforms become self-aware, so I can’t give you a definite day.”
16) What age did you die?
“A part of my soul died when Nova Cronum was destroyed…”
17) Are you nice or mean?
“I’ve been called a ‘glitch’ before. *giggle* No, in all honesty, I tend to speak my mind…a lot, and I guess that can rub people the wrong way.”
18) Are you social or shy?
“I prefer to keep to myself, but every once and a while I’ll venture downtown for a bit of drinking and dancing.”
19) What do you think of your parents?
“Though not ‘parents’ in the truest sense of the word, my formers were brilliant scientists and wonderful individuals, often compromising their valuable research time to help me in my studies.”
20) What's your weakness?
“My temper. It’s gotten me into trouble on more than one occasion.”
21) How long can you stay under water?
“We don’t have water on Cybertron, but as far as staying submerged in non-corrosive liquids, I could do it indefinitely given that I don’t need to breathe.”
22) What do you do on a regular daily basis?
“I work with Ratchet, helping him with his clinical duties and learning from him as his shield. I also dabble in energon research, mostly improving medical energon formulas.”
23) Do you love someone?
“A certain orange and red mech as caught my optic; yes.”
24) When was the last time you wet yourself?
“That…wow. We can’t really ‘wet’ ourselves in the way that you’re thinking.”
25) What's your favorite band(s)?
“There’s this one industrial group called Twinkletrods Conquers the Megatron. Their music is good for relieving stress at the end of a long day. Ratchet doesn’t like them though, says they’re ‘a bastardization’ of classic harmonies.’ He still listens to them, though; he just does it when I’m not around, the big hypocrite.” *giggle*

“Wow… No. No I haven’t. Our armor is a bit too sharp and poky for clothing.”

“I…thought I’d made it clear that I’d never worn clothing before…”
28) What do you consider fun in the day-time?
“Again, research and regular arguments with Ratchet.”
29) At night?
“Our shifts at the clinic can sometimes last two or three solar cycles. If my shift ends at night, I usually just hang around the lab for want of anything better to do. There’s always reading to be done, new research to absorb and build upon, and…it’s just easier, and more pleasant, to do it in the company of a good friend. Sometimes, if I’m motivated, I’ll head downtown for a drink or two. Given all the scrap that I have to deal with from people, I only venture thus if the events of the day have been particularly trying.
30) Ever kissed anyone?
*sigh* “Yes, in just about every way imaginable. Given my former line of work as a thost, it was unavoidable.”

“Ungh…yes.”
32) If you could have any super power, what would it be?
“I wish I had the power to end the war, so whatever that might entail: Charisma, super strength, invulnerability…that’s what I’d want.”
33) What’s your favorite time of day?
“I’m not partial to any particular time.”

“I know he does…he just has to admit it to himself.”
35) What's your favorite colour(s)?
“Black.”
36) When was the last time you cried?
“Ratchet took me up to the medevac platform during the last lunar eclipse. From that height, you can clearly see Nova Cronum…or what’s left of it any way. I wasn’t expecting it…and I got a bit emotional.”
37) Do you have a pet?
“I used to have a silver petro-rabbit.”
38) What did you name your pet?
“His name was Bolts.”
39) Are you crazy?
“Probably. War does terrible things to people…”
40) What are you?
“A scientist and a shield.”

“No one’s ever given me one.”
42) Do you consider yourself a happy or a down person?
“I go through emotional ups and downs, same as any other ‘Bot. Though I find that I’m happier here at the clinic, with Ratchet, than I was at the Academy.”

“I believe I already answered this question.”
44) favorite book?
“I tend to read data files only relative to medicine or energon…and I can tell you that they weren’t written to be enjoyable. They’re hard, technical tomes that require a lot of processor power to digest.”
45) What is your current occupation?
“I’m a shield serving under Dr. Ratchet at the Iacon Clinic and Triage Facility.”
I hope your day improved since I'm reading this late. But Io's responses were fun to read!
